wset level 2 Award in wines

Overview

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits will teach you about the key grape varieties grown around the world, the different styles of wine produced and the production of spirits and liqueurs. It will also introduce the Systematic Approach to Wine Tasting which will be followed when tasting each wine. This course is an ideal introduction to the world of international. This course is aimed at:

  • Wine enthusiasts who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits and want to obtain an internationally recognised wine qualification.
  • People employed in the drinks and hospitality industries.
  • People wishing to pursue a career as a sommelier and who want to learn more about international wines and wine styles.


The lectures are run on two full days with a separate examination within 5 days after the course. The exam lasts for one hour and consists of 50 multiple choice questions. The pass mark is 55%.
